Block 3

Narrative

Last year at the Apple Festival I was marching in band. We had to march all the way through town. We were passing the new courthouse when my cousin Amanda and my Aunt Ellen and her kids saw me and screamed my name; it was so embarrassing!

Well, that morning we were talking about it. My dad thinks if I ride the roundup it will break and fall in the river. Anyway, marching is something I love to do. Last year was actually my first time.

I loved it anyway. The only thing I don’t love is playing the same song over and over. We play three or four songs. It gets very annoying.  We would play “We Will Rock You” around fifteen times. My lips got numb. By the time we got to Dollar General, my face was as red as an apple, maybe just a little redder.

My tongue was so dry. Then, Mr. Wayne gave me a bottle of water and a nutrition bar. I had the water drunk in like… thirty seconds. I play the baritone. The baritone gets very heavy when you’re carrying it.

We get to be in the parade this year too. Yay! I can’t wait. While I’m sitting in class writing this story I can’t stop thinking about it. I wish we could go now. Being in the parade is so much fun.
