I was looking for food. The air was hot and humid. The water was just the right temperature. Anyway, I was taking my time, swimming through the dirty fish water, when suddenly I heard a big splash, and the smell of a tasty meal surrounding me.

I swam up to the top of the water to see the best looking worm I had ever seen! I speedily chased after him and “CHOMP!” he was gone in a flash. I felt delighted and full. I began to swim back when I felt something sharp tugging on my cheek. I then realized that a huge hook was caught on the inside of my mouth. Every time I jerked away, a terrible pain would make my whole body throb. The string tied to the hook began moving and I was pulled along until the water began to get so shallow I could barely breathe. I felt a man’s hand wrapped around my neck, and finally that horrible pain was gone. I saw the hook fall to the ground.

The man lightly dropped me back into the dirty lake. I could barely get enough water flowing through my gills, but I kept swimming.

I made it to a rock, where I could chill out and relax a little. It made me feel so happy to be safely back home. There is one thing that I could never forget, which is, “do not eat worms that fall from the sky!”
